Today, I fly into Denver Colorado for my first time at 25 years old. I have been dreaming of snowboarding these mountains for about 10 years. Flying near the rockies and swinging around to land at the DIA, I have the most incredible view of what is to come. The shuttle takes me straight to the convention center to the SIA trade show. Check my bags at the register and rush to see the last 2 hrs of the show. This convention is HUGE! and much more than I ever expected. Everything you could possibly need to ride any mountain, in any condition and do it all comfortably. And I only got to see a quarter of it! This experience has opened my eyes to the industry and all of the many aspects of riding. There's so much more than just ripping around a resort. There is so much to learn to be a knowledgeable rider in this winter wonderland.
I take some time after the convention to visit Boulder. It's a sweet town outside of the hustle with an elegant looking campus and cool hangouts. Thanks to my local friends, I get my first experience at Fatty J's. Such an awesome setup for a college bar... I only wish I could check it out on a Saturday night. After some tasty wings in Boulder I head back to Denver to hitch a ride with our crew to Winter Park. A long windy drive up the mountains, and we arrive at a winter village paradise. Winer Park is an awesome small town next to what I hope to be a great mountain. Great food at Randi's in town for dinner and a hot tub sesh to finish the night. I couldn't ask for more... Except to ride Colorado for my first time tomorrow at Winter Park!
